really happy with tr! i am using it very successfully to manage my one-man architectural office. tr now replaces 3 other apps which is great for workflow.

i generally have between 5 and 8 jobs running at any time. each job is set up as a new project. job names are set as topics. (so project name = topic name). easy to keep track of actions for all running projects.
also by filtering done actions by topic, i can produce a time sheet for each job, ready for invoicing.

question: what is the smart thing to do when a project is completed and i want to remove it from the database? (to be stored somewhere else, not deleted!)
i can see export project would work - would this be the best way?

I think you are right. Since it is only one project you want to archive, you can save the exported project by name. Then delete the project. Then they would be easy to find.

The one catch you will want to be aware of is on import, which require you import into a project. If you see import is not available that is why.

There is an archive feature that allows you to archive all completed projects into a single archive.

thanks dwight - i see what you mean about having to import into an existing project

i hadn't seen that archive function in the file menu - that could be useful too in some cases
