I use different .trx files for GTD. One is on a memory stick for transfer usage. Often I collect thoughts on the fly without processing them immediately. When back in the office I want to import the thought to my working copy. That would be possible by the Import/Thoughts function. However, it needed a .tx file with special formatting. Would it be possible to directly import from the .trx or alternatively get the thought exported from the USB file to .tx file properly encoded and the import the .tx to the working copy?

I will suggest that you use a text file to collect your thoughts on the fly (one thought per line). You can then import the thoughts from that file.

Hi Claire,

Thanks a lot for the fast reply. The suggestion to just use a plain tx file for the collection of thoughts is obvious and explained by the help concerning importing of thoughts/layout-section.

I was more interested in a solution of importing none processed thoughts directly from the trx file or exporting them from the running program to an appropriate formatted tx file. Any idea?

Regards,

Rainer
