TOPIC: Setting multiple contexts and times and priorities

Setting multiple contexts and times and priorities 15 years 2 months ago #2197

I just added a laundry list of 49 actions for a large project (getting my competent leader designation in toastmasters), most of them were copy and paste material.

The 49 items should all have the same "Time" "Energy" "Priority" and "Context" settings, but I haven't found the way to change any of these in multiples and I really don't want to do it manually, though I will if I have to.

Currently, if I select a bunch of items off the action review screen and then try to change the context on the single showing "selected" pane, it only changes the context for that item. How do I change multiple items at the same time?

If this is not currently a feature how do I add it as a requested feature. If it already exists, this feature is going to save me about 20 minutes of mind numbing repetitive not-fun work.

Good news. The functionality already exists....(I am so glad that I don't have to answer: it is on our long list).

Go under Review Actions, a Tab where all actions are listed. List all the 49 actions (search on their project name maybe).

Then select the actions in the list with shift and/or ctrl keys (if it is all of them, you can even user Ctrl+a). Then use one of the buttons between the Tabs names and the filter line: there is one for changing context and one for changing criteria (hold the mouse on the button and a hint text appears).

Thank you. That helps a ton.

Is there a way for me to add Time, Energy and Priority to that button list?

It is exactly the functionality that I would like for bulk edits

I was about to ask a similar question. I'm elated that the app is _most_ of the way but still when I select a group of actions I think need to {click criteria, select a criterion, set the value, click OK} several times, one for each criterion. I guess my ideal would be if the "criteria" button could bring up the same panel but have settings for each criterion accumulated until I click OK. Then I could click "criteria", set a value for each criterion, and click OK for all of the criteria, without having to iterate.

Thanks ... Scott

This is high on my list of wants, too. I was going to post a request today!

I second the idea of having a filter screen to select items from, which would then automatically apply to the next actions input.

Or perhaps a filter one a project folder that would set the chosen criteria for all actions inside to be identical.
