Hello all

I have become quite disturbed at some recent occurrences here at TR. I believe that most of those who buy TR (like myself) are hardcore believers in how good it is for use as a GTD tool. Quite a lot of us put effort in the old forum to give ideas for suggestions.

So when that forum was removed and Claire says the reason is because many people were complaining and it wasn't good for sales [1]. I see it as a VERY BAD SIGN.

Let me be clear:

(a) In terms of following the GTD methodology, I know TR is without equal (I've tried a lots of other software.

(b) In terms of integrating one's digital life, TR is STUCK IN MEDIOCRITY and there are no signs of getting out. By Integration we mean features that I and many others have requested on this forum like:

- System Wide hotkey for input capture

- Integration into whatever calendar I am using (it is effective to see what's on you calendar before you schedule something no?). Currently on the Mac, TR cannot event put its events into iCal which is frustrating.

- Ability to capture inputs using voice, pictures etc

- Better looking mobile (especially iPad) apps. The current iPad app is just a mediocre over-sized version of the iphone app (which is just ok but not great)

(c) I think I speak for a lot when I say we are ready to PAY more for a better, always evolving application.

For better or worse, we (users) and you (developers of TR) are in a social contract and it is professional and proper that you give us an indication of where this relationship is going.

A clear roadmap taking into consideration all features people have ever requested and when (if at all) you plan to implement them would be good. Trust me folks, the absolutely worst press and bad PR you can get is from a former FAN of your software - because they know the ugly insides that people on the outside don't see.

So Claire, Jeremy? ...where do we stand?

We did not remove the old forum because forum users were complaining, we removed it because new users could not register and they were complaining. We disallowed new registration because that forum was used by spammers mainly.

Thank your for the clarification Claire ... but could you tell us abound a roadmap for TR? I think it is simple professional courtesy to let us know what to expect in the future.

If you and Jeremy have no intention of giving a roadmap and sticking to it, then let us know so people can start evaluating other options.

It will be great to also tell us ways to migrate out data.

I would also very much like to hear about the roadmap. The mediocracy comment about the overall integrated of TR in my digital life is not where it needs to be. I love this software, but its very frustrating to not see the progress on features which are generally available in so many other tools.

Just a reminder to Claire and Jeremy,

We really do NEED an official response on this. It doesn't help that you are ignoring this matter.

Don't worry, we are not ignoring. We are thinking about it. I will provide an answer by the end of this week.

Our priority currently is to improve the Android app and I am finishing testing the new iPhone app.
