Tasks created from the "Projects" and "Single Actions" tabs always have status set to inactive. The default "Initial State" setting (specified at Tools -> Options -> Miscellaneous -> Actions) is ignored.

Nevermind, I see it now. It acts that way so the sequencing feature will work. Very clever.

Thank you for thinking it is very clever, but in fact there are two default values for action state: one for action created in process thought (under the Actions tab Miscellaneous setting) and one when action created within project (under the Projects tab Miscellaneous setting). Probably because a (clever) user requested that they could be different.

That's even better.

If I may put a suggestion in the hopper...

Perhaps an Initial State setting could be added to the settings window for each project. It could default to the overall Initial State, but allow the thoughts Initial State in each project to be different.

That would allow the Initial State of thoughts to be Inactive if they are in a project where sequencing is turned on and Active in projects where sequencing is not turned on.
