TOPIC: Linux 3.1.2 install problem

Re:Linux 3.1.2 install problem 15 years 2 months ago #2126

I've got the same problem here.

Using Ubuntu 10.04, I ran the install script, the installing process through the Thinking Rock installer was completed succesfully. When trying to launch the application nothing happens, no error message or what so ever.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Jasper,

What I needed to do was:

- locate the old starter icon
- right click > properties
- change to sh /home/ken/.tr-312/bin/tr --jdkhome /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.20
(don't forget to adapt to your own situation)
- done

Some people here had to change the config file. I did not.

All the best,

Ken

I got Ubuntu 10.4 Netbook Remix. Installation was fine, I did it as root. TR was running without any problems.

I got one issue only:

no action tabs anymore...

Did you install as user or as root?

Thanks for your reply. I reinstalled TR and modified the tr.conf file to point to the right location of my JDK.

Many thanks... I had a the same problem with TR installed on Ubuntu 9.04 which I then upgraded to 9.10. It seemed to install perfectly but when you tried to use it nothing happened... no error message or anything. Your fix (with slight path change to suit my directories) worked first time.
I now have my TR data stored in a DropBox directory so that I can run TR on either of my Windows machines or Ubuntu laptop. I just need TR on Android and I can access it on my phone as well... one day!

Hi all.
Seems like it's very common configuration using TR with DropBox on several PCs.
The only one problem is when you forget to close TR on one computer and datafile gets replaced with an old one. Any plans on TR side to implement something similar to Omnifocus webdav file storage?

Regards,
Sergei.
