Hello,

I note that there is a topic with a similar suggestion in the free forum. However, that forum appears to be less active than the member forum and I can't post there (yet - I have registered and await a confirmation) - so I will put this suggestion here - I hope that is OK!

I would like to suggest that TR allow for recurrences for "Do ASAP" actions and for projects - it seems that currently, recurrences can only be established for "scheduled" actions and not for projects at all. If I have missed something, can someone please direct me as to how to do this?

A basic use case would be for a task (or project) such as "wash the car" - I want to set that task to recur every two weeks from the date it was last done. I would not typically "schedule" the task for a specific time - for me, it could be done on a Monday evening, a Thursday evening, a Saturday, or a Sunday. It would be set as "Do ASAP" and the Action date would be the start date that I set. As soon as I check it off as "done", the recurrence would set the next time the "Do ASAP" task would re-surface as two weeks in the future.

I hope I've explained the request satisfactorily.

Thanks,
-- Rique

Please have a look at the subsequent recurrent scheduled task functionality.

Hi, Claire

I think I can make that work, thanks!

The only concern I have is with the notion of calling such a task "scheduled" - however, as long as the task only shows in a list view, that is OK by me.

When you add calendar functionality (which I am all for), I would object to having an action with a "soft" scheduled start time show up on the calendar - if we could have the option to show / not show specific tasks on the calendar, that would take care of it, I think.

Question - is there a chance that you might post a tour covering recurrence and all the different use cases by which someone could invoke that feature? For instance, I'm not sure how I would use recurrence in a project / sub-project - and how (or if) I could integrate recurring actions with dependent actions within a project.

Question #2 - same question as above, but related to dependencies - I'm not entirely sure I understand all the various use cases for dependencies - or how to take advantage of that feature.

I hope I'm not being too demanding! ;)

Thanks again for a great (and clearly maturing) product!

Best,
-- Rique

I am still struggling with this concept. I need to schedule tasks that reoccur. I know I can make them scheduled events but they don't show up in my task list on the calendar. Am I really missing something easy?

Help,
Howard

Using the Android app has helped me understand the recurring task process. It would be nice if those events appeared in the task list rather than on top of the calendar in the desktop version as they do in the android. Having said that I am very pleased with everything and want to thank Jeremy and Claire for all of their efforts and wish everyone a happy new year.
