Hi all!

I use ThinkingRock for 4 years and now almost all aspects of my live are in this great piece of software. So now I have circa 12 000 actions in ThinkingRock.

I would like to know, how many actions can I have? Are there any software limitations?

And, most important, how can I improve performance of ThinkingRock? Some config modifications? Maybe changing some Java parameters?
I need to wait about 10 min before the enormous base is loaded. And it freeze 20% of the time ;(
I think it can use more of my hardware, but I don't know what to do.

Thanks!

P.S. Sorry, if it's wrong place for the post, i'm new here.

UPD:
My system:

Product Version: ThinkingRock 3.4.2 201205181646
Java: 1.7.0_25; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.25-b01
System: Linux Version 3.8.0-27-generic läuft auf amd64; UTF-8; de_DE (trgtd)

rttgd,

12,000 actions is a indeed a lot! How many of those 12,000 actions are you going to be able to get done any time soon? Are they all really actions that need to be in TR right now? Perhaps it would be better to try classify some of those actions as things that you are going to get to in the future, and so put them somewhere else, such as in a word processing document, or a spreadsheet? That way you could still have them to look at, but then you could use TR for those items that you are actually going to be working on in the next week, month etc. That might help the performance.

I hope that is helpful.

Phil.

Hi rttgd,

I assume that those 12.000 actions are not all to do, but most of them are done.

I also use ThinkingRock since over 5 years and for me works best to have only about 2.000 actions(including) done in TR.
All actions and projects which are older than 1 year do I export into an archive and delete it in TR.
So it is still possible to import them again if neccessary but I have no performance issues.

Would it be possible for you to archive and delete older done actions?

If you need further assistance you can contact me also via the german ThinkingRock website.

Best regards,
Benjamin
