The IPhone is not that popular. At least not here.

I'm glad i didn't put a lot of work into the development or anything :P

..that is like the progress and the look of the iphone app is look like.
For this price the app is really really disapointing.
There are a lot of other apps in the store for free with a big big big amount more functionality.

I hope the next version will be a lot more better.

@Section8: It's a big chance for you to get all the iphone users on your site.

I love TR desktop and I hope that I will soon be able to say the same about the iphone app.

the true benefit of GTD is the ability to carry all of the context list with you. I am stuck with BB as this is an organizational direction. Is there anywhat to move the data to the BB.

I've got an A7 notepad and Lamy pen in my pocket, which go virtually unused because now I have the app as my intray. I must admit to never using it for anything else bar synching! It's great that we can now view actions by context and mark them done on the iPhone, but I must admit that I give in when faced with 200 actions for @work, undifferentiated between status, effort, whatever.

There's a couple of things that would help me enormously, I don't know how difficult they would be to do?

Could we view actions as per the Actions Screens we have set up in TR? If I could see my actions as for today, work/critical, delegated and so on, as I have set up in TR, that would be a big boon for me.

One other thing; could you colour them as we do on the desktop too?!

All the best,
Jim

Hi, I have the TR iPhone app (v1.5) but do not use it. It can be used as an inbox to collect thoughts, and it shows ASAP actions. You sync it with your desktop and this pulls all your thoughts into your main inbox (for processing) and changed ASAPs are also synced. It does not show scheduled items. I found problems with it.

1. Items entered into my iPhone inbox were disappearing but not appearing in my main inbox, so I was losing thoughts.

2. ASAPs were getting messed up - only some would come to the iPhone, and changes on the iPhone did not always reflect back in the desktop after a sync.

3. The sync is done using the desktop's IP over the internal network. This is very clunky for me because I use a couple of main machines and carry the data between them. The IPs are totally different in each case and besides, everything starts getting out of sync.

Until these points improve I cannot trust it and so don't use it. However it has great potential and I'm sure it will improve. I'd like to see it use the Bonjour service to discover the waiting desktop client, and do away with IPs. And I'd like to see a way disable action syncing and just use it as a robust inbox on the move. As it stands I just use the free Notes app on the iPhone, or even just record a quick voice memo and then process them as well as my inbox each day.

Hope this helps,
Chris

There's work progressing well on this. We haven't worked out custom configured views, but there will be filtering and sorting on a lot more things.

I hadn't even thought of that, not such a silly idea really. Does just having the foreground text colour suffice?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for taking the time to note your problems.

There were issues with actions not showing up in the first version. This occurred when you had long notes in an action but also depended on the speed on the network. I believe we sorted that out in the 1.5 version though.

It sounds like you were syncing with multiple TR installs, is that right or was it a portable version of TR you were syncing on different machines? Syncing one iphone to multiple thinking rock files *isn't* supported. Syncing against the same TR data file on multiple machines can be done if your careful.

I hear you on the IP thing. Having auto discovery via Bonjour is definitely on the list. Mostly this was a matter of me not having gone through the learning curve of using bonjour at the time.
