ThinkingRock 2.0.1 Release Notes

We have done extensive testing but to be safe, MAKE A BACKUP of your current data file (function Save To under the File menu).

• Existing reports have not been updated and new reports have not been implemented yet. These will be released as modules after this release.
• Mac only: the shortcut key from Process Thoughts had to be changed to control+W.
• To sort on the columns,you need to double-click on the first column, then single click to add more columns into the sorting.

Changes since TR 2.0 Epsilon

• buttons are back;
• at last, changed terms Future Items to Someday/Maybe Items and Information Items to Reference Items.

• new date picker window with buttons for next month/year, previous month/year;
• allow direct entry;
• user can specify date format under preferences/options/dates;
• user can choose first day of the week under preferences/options/dates;
• space bar now opens the date picker window;
• Enter key takes the date where the cursor is positioned and closes the window;
• Esc key closes window without selection.

You can specify the character encoding under preferences/options/Import Thoughts.

• Thought's notes carried to project's notes when project created;
• allow user to enter project name when creating new project;
• action and sub-project takes the priority of the project they created under, unless user has entered a specific priority;
• Someday/Maybe is the default instead of Delete in the choice for non-actionable;
• add scrollbar for actionable section;
• can tab out of the Success field.

• multi-columns ordering: one click to select columns one by one, double click to change the first order column;
• ordering of the criteria columns as per definition and not alphabetically anymore;
• filtering: exclusion of null available for dates and criteria;
• sorting of Action date and Due date is first by date <= today, then null, then date > today;
• new button: show filter line or not. By default, the setting is to show the line;
• Print screen back! (A4 format only in this version, Letter format will be released with reports changes). Specify parameters under Preferences/options/Actions Screens.
• added duration as a column;
• all settings, except the bars position, saved in a separate file called ReviewAction.xml. The file can be shared between different platforms. The file will be saved under the same folder as the data file. We recommend that you do a backup of that file in a different directory.

• for all the fast entry users: F5 to swap between project tree panel and action panel;
• F3 and F4 working from anywhere in the 2 panels;
• focus when action is converted to project is set to the new project;
• action and sub-project takes the priority of the project they created under;
• change context and change topic dialog windows: focus on the list for quicker data entry;
• allow project creation date to be updated. Need to allow it under Preferences/Options/Projects.

• Wizard to enter recurrency details or modify them;
• new options for recurrency: every Monday, Tuesday and Friday; every 2, 15 and 27 of each month; every 2nd Monday of the month; every 6th March, 6th June and 6th October.
• please note that "start date basis" recurrency is now called "regular" and "done date basis" recurrency is now called "subsequent".

• Do ASAP action: Due Date;
• Inactive action: earliest between Start Date and Due Date;
• Scheduled action: Scheduled date and time;
• Delegated action: earliest between Start Date and Follow-up date;
• done actions: null.

So you can create a new Review Actions Tab with all actions coming up within the next week: select 2 filters with the following values action date >= tomorrow and action date <= one week and don't forget to check the exclude if null for these 2 filters on the filters window. Suggestion for the columns (in this order): icon, done box, description, action date, context, topic, project/thought icon, project/thought description.

• 2 new buttons to add date and timestamp at cursor position. Can use shortcut keys Ctrl+Shift+D for date, and Ctrl+Shift+T for time;
• bug fix: double click will show the cursor; double click to select a word working.

• You can specify the character encoding under preferences/options/Exports and Reports.
• Items: added Notes and Tickle Date;
• Actions: added Due Date, Start date, Success, Priority, Time, Energy and duration for scheduled action.

• new screens with layout similar to Review Actions;

• time zone used within ThinkingRock can be specified under Preferences/Options/Calendar.

• each new version of TR remembers its own list of data files, i.e. it does not remember the one from the previous version;
• Add link to our website on help menu;
• Free distributable UTF-8 font definition added to standard distribution (for reports and Print Screen);
• bug fix: link to files with an "&" in the path name or web url now working (used to not work on PC only);
• bug fix: pocketmod report, columns overwritting each other. To solve this problem, we had to remove the font parameter. The report will always be printed using the DejaVuSans font which should cover all non-English characters.
