Create project template

Once you have completed a project, you can save your planning by creating a project template based on that project. Instead of copying and paste, which will mean you will have to update the template (reset all dates, uncheck done actions, etc), you can just use the Create Template functionality from the project node.

The following reset is done in the created template:

The created template is added in the Templates tab project tree. Next time you have a similar project, you can just copy and paste the template to the current projects tab. Then you can set the action dates, delegate actions, update the notes applicable to the new project.

Share project template

You can also share project templates with other ThinkingRock users, within your team or with the ThinkingRock community under this page.

Under the project (or sub-project node), use Export Template transaction. This functionality exports the selected project or sub-project into a separate file with the extension .trpt. This is the file the other users can import using the Import Project Template function.

The Import Project Template function is called under the File Menu, Import Option.

You need to select a project template file (.trpt extension). The project template will be added at the bottom of your project template tree.

The following applies when you import a project template:
