Avast Antivirus throws up the following message from the 2.01 installer file downloaded from SourceForge:

Sign of "Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}" has been found in
"http://internode.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/thinkingrock/tr-2.0.1.exe"
file.

Avente say this is the first and only time this has been reported. Anyone else had this experience with Avast or other virus scanner?

Yes, I had the same problem. It only showed up just recently, I suppose after a virus database update. In my case, it reported the uninstall.exe in TR-2.0.1 as the problem - this is after TR is installed. Then it reported the saved downloaded install file as infected. Finally if you try and download the install file, the resident scanner also reports it during the download process.

I checked all of these with AVG 8.0, another program and it had no problems with any of them. I suspect it may be a false alarm. I also reported it to Avast but did not get a response.

I PM'd Jeremu and Claire on this as even if it is a false alarm, they should contact Avast as it may prevent potential customers from down loading TR. I have been running TR-2.0.1 with no problem for a month as have others.

I have contacted them tonight. I will also update the download page.

Just had an identical problem occur with Bitdefender on XP. It wouldn't even let me finish downloading it. It actually hung firefox.

I'm good, as I can pull down the straight Java version, but thought you should know.

Just upgraded to the latest version and as a test downloaded TR - it downloaded fine with no alerts - I did not try and run the exe as TR is already installed and running but I would think the problem is solved for Avast

Checked it with Kaspersky -- clean. I predict that this will turn out to be a false positive. I also tested the uninstaller; works fine and does not try to infect other files.
