Perhaps the topic is not completely right.. Let me explain. I have borrowed a Nokia E61 for a while now and it's a very cool device! It can synchronize with Outlook which is great for calendar items.

Nokia has the PC Suite application which allows you to share the device's calendar/notes/etc with your e-mail client such as Outlook. In addition it can also synchronize folders to a 'briefcase'.

Another nice thing is that Nokia has made a port of Python for the Symbian OS called pys60. You can now run python scripts on your phone and have easy access to UI-elements, telephone, GPS etc.

What i would like to make is a module for TR which saves my actions to set of files periodically. PC Suite will synchronize these files with the device and on the device i can view my actions using a Python script i have to create first.

A handy thing is for example that you can review your @calls context and have instant access to the phone-functionality of the device. Another thing is that you can add a thought on the device and synchronize this backwards. Same goes with 'things done'.

To achieve this the only thing TR has to do is periodically save the set of files for the device. For synchronization the other way this becomes a little bit more difficult, but let's call that 'stage 2' :)

I have downloaded Netbeans and opened the project files from SourceForge. I am however no expert in Java programming so i'm a little bit lost...

I think it's most easy to create a module which gets called periodically or on every 'save'. This module produces the files in a similar way the 'Export actions as text' module works.

Is it possible to create such a module and where do i start?!

Jeremy is currently working on a sync-option that opens up TR for other apps and platforms. It uses a XML-structured sync-file so you can 'sync' that between plaforms and use any scripting language to handle the sync-file in any way you need. I'm involved in testing (I'm developing a Ganttproject-to-TR converter) and currently it can only import data into TR, but it will grow from there

Well, that sounds interesting to me. Is there something i have to do to also become involved in testing?

I think you can jump in if you like. I'll ask Jeremy if he's OK with me detailing the project here on the forum (I think it's not a problem) :D

This sounds interesting. I now enter almost everything via TR, export an icalendar that I stick on a website and sync my nokia n800 running gpe calendar, evolution, and google calendar to that one ical. I am starting to look at scheduleworld and opensync to sync my calendars and contacts, and something that opens up TR to sync via XML could make things very interesting.
