I'm having trouble setting up date filters. In the filter list there are a number of date options: Done from, Done to, Created from, Created to, Action from, Action to, Start from, Start date, ....

It is not intuitive to me how these match up with the fields shown on the action screen. And how would up specify a date "before or equal to today"? A tutorial on the wiki shows the old filter form used "<=" types of filters, which seemed much more intuitive.

It should work the same as in epsilon, just a title change where "to" is "<=" and "from" is ">=".

Maybe the symbols are clearer to most people - I can easily change it back.

Does anyone agree/disagree?

The '<=' etc would be in keeping with database and spreadsheet nomenclature. I say stay with '>=' and the similar.

I too vote to revert to the comparison operators.

That's kind of funny, I personally thought that the change was a nice thing for new and nontechnical users.

I can understand that view but I put it that most users use PCs and software to do some sort of work at least. Spreadsheets have used this sort of symbol for 'greater than or equal to' since year dot (certainly since 1980 when I started). I also have dim recollections of maths classes in form 2 (yes, form 2) in the sixties using this sort of symbology.

When we do the internationalization (I18N) changes (after 2.0 is released and after the reports are done - version 2.1) you will easily be able to change titles such as this.

This has been changed in Release Candidate 2. See http://www.thinkingrock.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1931.
