My main trx file is called todo.trx. I recently created a new one called work.trx. After creating work.trx I opened todo.trx again. Here I found that the operation had resulted in the customized action panes in action view being reset for both todo.trx. I no longer had the @Home, @Phone views I normally use

Did you use TR on the same machine with both files? Otherwise I don't understand why opening different data files should create that problem. I did not experience that myself.

Right now the tabs, columns, filters etc settings are not saved with the data file, they are saved locally on the computer. So you have to set up both machines manually. In the future the settings will be in a data file (no sure if it will be the same as the data file) and you will be able to set all your instances of TR on different machine by copying the 'setup data file'. Having the information on a different file than your data will allow a team to default to the same settings for example.
