Do people use the Delegated To facility as a means of marking actions as waiting for somebody to do something?

Could the Delegated To field be made to auto-complete?

I mean I may wish to 'wait for' a set of people on a regular basis and it would save some typing. Even better if there was a Contacts tab ...?

We have the following issue in our (long) list:

Classify information items
Add a type and with each type, certain fields are associated. Example: contact, website reference, document reference, etc

Would that be a good solution?

So this is issue 2 on my "discover TR" odyssey. ;)

I have a similar question as Sapphie. How do people handle "Waiting For" actions as opposed to "Delegated"? I make a distinction as sometimes I'm waiting for stuff to happen before I can take the next action in a project, but it's not necessarily that I'm waiting on another person (so it's not really "delegated"). I could be waiting for an event to happen for example, or commonly, I'm waiting on finishing a completely unrelated project before picking this one back up. I like to "park" the project/action at that point by marking it "Waiting For" and it doesn't appear on my current To Do list any more (although it's still current and not a "Future" project to my mind). As part of my regular review I then look at all "Delegated" and "Waiting For" actions/projects.

Do people currently just use "Delegated" within TR and put in a bogus name in the name field? Is it possible to define custom status items? e.g. Can I create a "Waiting For" status somehow?

You should use the start date or the tickler functionality instead.

The Waiting For actions are normally associated with delegation of a task.

hope this helps.
