Jeremy, I saw in another post that you are able to give the source out now that TR has an OSS license. I would like to set up a virtual machine to do TR development but I haven't developed in java in a long, long time so I'm not sure what all I need to install. Do I just need to install NetBeans IDE?

Thanks.

Yes, just NetBeans 5.5. I am developing on Mac but that is not a requirement. Can't think of anything else you will need, at the moment.

I can give you the source code as a zip file. I will put it on sourceforce subversion repository at some stage.

Ok, cool. I emailed you about the zip file. Thanks.

I have the src from sourceforge and compiled TR but it failed because I don't have a package: com.apple.eawt

It looks like you can only get that from a mac java jdk. I tried to get one from connect.apple.com but it was in .img format.

Can I either get the necessary apple packages or is there a way to not compile the mac stuff?

Thanks.

Woohoo I got it to finish compiling and run by deleting the Apple Menu project. I would state the exact name if I, well, hadn't deleted it :)

So um, does it always recompile the entire project ever time you want to debug? I guess I'm too used to Visual Studio .NET where it only rebuilds what has changed. Maybe it is just this slow compiling because I'm running it in a virtual machine, or maybe there is a setting to do partial recompiles.

Apple Menu project can just be removed from the modules of the main ThinkingRock project - you don't need to delete it. Expand ThinkingRock and Modules, then right-click the "Apple Application Menu" and choose Remove.

You can build a single module - right-click and choose Build Project.

You can reload a single module - right-click and choose Install/Reload in Target Platform. May need to do a full Run once first. Seems to give an error for modules that have a property type of Autoload - but works ok.
