Hi Hugo,

Choose the "Process" menu, then choose "Collect Thoughts."

Or, you could click the "Collect Thoughts" toolbar button, which looks like a piece of paper going into an inbox.

Or, if you prefer keyboard shortcuts, you can press CTRL-SHIFT-1.

After Collecting Thoughts, you can move onto Process Thoughts, then Projects and Actions.

I'm using TR2 on Windows and I see the following menus:

File
Edit
View
Setup
Process
Review
Tools
Help

I don't have a "Navigate" or "Window" menu -- maybe your install didn't work right? Sorry I can't be more help.

Hi,

same problem here. I installed one version, then downloaded the file two
days later and installed again.

In vain, the menu items are still missing.

Any pointers?

thanks in advance,
tomz

Hi,

the Linux version works for me.

I'll try to analyze the problem under Windows.

regards,
tomz

It seems that for some reason the application is not reading the information in the lowese level "thinkingrock" folder of your installation. If you look at your installation it should have folders like this:

Code:
C:\Program Files\ThinkingRock2\
        - icons
        - thinkingrock\
                - bin
                - etc
                ...
                - thinkingrock\
                        ...

The lowest level "thinkingrock" folder is not being read properly for some reason. This could be that the installation did not unpack it properly or it could be access permissions or something.

Makes me wonder if all the people missing the menus are running Vista?

Dear Friends,

I have posted the description of a similar problem in a different threat. In my case - for the sake of simplicity, let me say - I have installed TR2 into two different XP laptops. It works fine in one, in the other one, I am not getting any GTD related menus. From tools menu, I checked module manager: most of the modules seem to be missing. I wonder whether this is a Netbeans related problem.

Any suggestion is very welcome.

PS: For the sake of completeness, let me describe, the background of my encounter with the problem: I am actually using TR2 through a USB stick, it works fine in one case, and not in the other. To remove, the USB variable, I have installed TR2 in two machines and I had the same problem.

I have been unable to reproduce this poblem and/or find a solution yet.

Some questions:
Do you have NetBeans installed?
What region and language settings do you have set on your systems?
Are you running TR under the same user as you installed it with?
Have you tried running as administrator?

Hopefully we will be releasing the next version this week - if that does not improve things I will look at this problem more.

Dear TR Supported

Thank you very much for looking into my problem.

1) My version is en_us (language, region, I assume)
2) I had netbeans in my system, long time ago. I search for it. It doesn't seem to be around any more
3) Yes, I am trying to use as the same user I have installed. In all the machines I am using, I have administrator priviledges.

If this is to be useful, I can compare the specifics more closely.

I think that may be the old installation of NetBeans (NB) that is causing some conflict. I am not sure where NB configuration info is kept in Windows - maybe in the registry. Could you try creating a new user and installing TR under the new user.

Actually, I discovered that I had netbeans 3.5 still around in my hard disk. Removed it, restrated the machine. The same behavior.

I'll take "different user approach" and keep you posted about the results.

Thank you for the suggestions.
