Hello:

I'm a complete, newbie, and trying to get my act together with this great software (many thanks for the developers).

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem.

I tried to post my output .ics file in order for iCal to subscribe to it. I followed shrevie's suggestion <http>, enabling web sharing, and so on.

When I tried to subscribe to it, iCal told me to check the URL since it couldn't find it.

Since it was the first time I'd even attempted to enable web sharing and setting up a local host, I thought I might be doing something wrong. But when I tried posting it as a file in order to import it, iCal again couldn't find the .ics file. :!:

Spotlight can't find it either, so it doesn't seem to be a problem of iCal, but of ThinkingRock.

I'm running OSX 10.4.8, iCal 2.0.4 and ThinkingRock 1.2.3.

Inspired in the answers to another iCal related post, I opened the console (another first for me).

This is the copy and paste:

ProjectDnDTreeMode.update(...)
Automatic backup of data file has been made.
Data has been saved to file.
Generating ICalendar file ... done

If I understand at all, the ICalendar file is being generated. But I can't find it by the name I expected to have, (thinking-rock.ics).

either in the local host nor when I ask it to save it otherwise.

Spotlight cant find it by thinking-rock nor by .ics (it does find other .ics files in the application support folders of iCal).

I did a new search with Spotlight and finally it appeared. I really can't figure out why it didn't appear before, since I was doing exactly the same thing.

I've been able to import it... (actually, only the "to-dos".. with no dates associated).

But I still haven't been able to subscribe to by posting it on my local webserver.

Hmmm... maybe all it needs is for me to re-start the computer.

Wheee!!!! Restarting did the trick. The events with their dates appeared.

I also tried "publishing" and importing the calendar.

Now, all I need is to learn how disallow other people from reading my stuff.

Can anyone point me to any url that gives instructions for dummies? I don't have the slightest idea of how to tweak this. (I googled "Apache config httpd allow deny", but it just brought me back to Shrevie's post).

Thanks for your patience.
