v1.2.3 is intended to be a small release. The following functions are initially foreseen:

- Archiving Functionality

- search facility

- Provide recurring scheduled actions

- New screen for all done actions and projects + print screen

- Add possibility to store a filename (including path name) for actions, projects or items.

- Conversion back from project to action

- Today/Tomorrow/Next week buttons

- bug fix: Successful outcome text in notes field - typo

- bug fix: Review actions: <html><strike>none error

Maybe:
- Internationalisation (I18N) and provide some translations e.g EN.AU, EN.US, French, German - help only
- Action export - text file per context

Claire,
If I can be of any help concerning a french translation of documentation/help/screens it will be with a pleasure for me to contribute.

It will be a small return for the pleasure I get from using the tool.

Best regards
LeColombier

Hello,

If you ever decide to include a Dutch version, I am willing to help with the translation work. I agree with Lecolombier: it will be a pleasure to give something back to you for developing this great app.

Small question: I see cut/copy/paste functionality doesn't make it in the list for v.1.2.3. Any idea when you'll be working on that ? (personally, I think this is a handy feature that is now missing).

Greetings,

Guzz

I would like to be able to copy a whole project or action.

This would make it easy to set up recurring actions, especially irregularly spaced ones, and also templates for similar projects.

I believe Templates are in the pipeline and what follows is only a suggestion to help while we are waiting for a version which incorporates templates directly.

A project called "Templates" could be a top level inactive project with sub-projects; a bit like the "Future Projects" top level suggestion. Then with "copy project "it would be easy to generate a new project with most of the detail already filled in.

TR is so close to the GtD support application I want. Please keep up the good work.

It's minor, but it would also be nice to have Previous/Next arrows next to the Month drop-down in the Date Picker :)

The list looks great!

I know this is a hard question to answer, but when do you think the 1.23 beta will be available?

In terms of templating, one possibility is to use the Archive feature to support this... if it would be possible to open an archive file (really just another TR XML data file) and choose a project to paste into the currently open TR file, that would allow for templating.... an option checkbox on that screen might include the choice to "Paste all items as NOT DONE" so that everything would show up.

Or.... if recurring items are added in 1.23, add the option to add "Recurring" to the Project. If that's the case, and the project is marked done, another one is created that copies ALL items (done or not) from the current one and creates a new one based on the recurring pattern, and updates all the items within it using the same pattern (e.g. if the item was 1 Sept 2005, and recurrence is set to Annual, it would be scheduled for 1 Sept 2006).

Either approach effectively gives you the ability to have templates.... I like the second one because it is very automatic, but the first one is ok too.

If there's a chance to get an Italian version too, I'm ready to contribute to the Project...

Thank you for all the offers of help for translation. For v1.2.3 we woud like to only translate the help files. We intend to translate the screen prompts, title and hints in the version after that.

It will be easier for me to send email directly from my outlook so could you send me an email using the Contact page, I will reply directly. The help files are in html format. If possible, I would appreciate if the 'translators' keep the format. If not, I will re-do the format conversion (I should be able to understand enough of Italian, German and Dutch to do that - French is my mother tongue). We have 3 people which have offered to translate in German so I will share the files between them and maybe they can cross-check with each other.

Also I want to let you know that for every release, we spend a few hours updating the help files. We will find a way of tracking changes made to allow the 'translators' to minimise their time.

Hi Claire,

a week ago, I sent you a message through the contact page of the TR website, as you asked a few posts above (so that you can send e-mail regarding translation of help files directly through your outlook).

I haven't received a reply until now, and after reading on the forum that some of the webpages aren't functioning properly, I thought that maybe my message hadn't come through to you.

Have you received my message, or should I try to contact you in another way ?

Greetings,

Guzz

Would it be possible to implement letter-sized (8.5x11) documents for the reports as an option?

I think the reports are currently set to A4 (?) at 8.26x11.69.

No biggie, since all reports still fit on 8.5x11; all it really does is even out the margins.

Added in the list of future functionality. v1.2.3 will be released this WE so we can't add anymore functionality to it.

Thank you Claire, and if you need any translation help for either documentation or the application itself to "American" English, I'd be happy to help. Mostly changing "s" to "z", and "ll" to "l", fewer "u"s, etc.

I'm Canadian, but Canadian spelling (which was once pretty much identical to Australian) is slowly morphing into American spelling.

Hi all,

I've inserted a post in another thread to offer my help in traslation (Italian).
Now I've seen the email request from Claire.

I'll send an email ASAP :-)
