I am a long-time, paid-up user of Thinking Rock. I would like to thank Jeremy and Claire for all their hard work. However I think the process of creating a mini-project needs streamlining.

Say you were busy at work but for some reason (perhaps a phone call) you decide you should "meet xyz about abc". You are busy so you write this in the "Collect Thoughts" screen and think no further about it.

At some time you decide to "Process" your thoughts and open the appropriate screen. You see "meet xyz about abc." It is apparent that this is what David Allen would call a "project." You need to "book a meeting room", "invite xyz", "create an agenda", "ask the IT department to set-up Power Point", etc. So you classify the thought as a project and need to add the actions.

There are two ways to add actions to a project and both are unsatisfactory in some ways. The first is to go to the "Actions" screen and use F3 to add actions. This has the disadvantage that you have had to change screen to add the actions and will have to change again to continue processing thoughts. The second is to go to the "Thoughts" screen and add the actions for subsequent processing but this is more inefficient.

There needs to be an easy method to add actions to a thought in TR. I suggest that the "Process Thoughts" screen has two halves. If the thought is classified as a project then the lower half should have a list of zero or more actions that can be appended to with F3. Since many of my thoughts become projects, this would be a helpful streamlining.

Good idea. Added to Mantis.

This is something I would like to see too. I don't like having to make my next action "plan the project" when I could just as easily plan it while processing my thoughts.
