I am just starting up. Have entered a heap of thoughts. So far easy.

However, as soon as I try to process, it presents me with the first thought. I can set/change fields in it. However I can't get any of those field values to stick.

I am assuming that when I click on "X" on the "Process Thoughts X" tab it should give effect to what I have done and either move me to the next thought or close down item and return me to Home or the thoughts list. Howeve, that control seems to do nothing.

Ditto the drop down arrow at the right of the screen that I assume does the same thing. Also the left and right arrows near that drop down arrow are greyed out. (I assume they allow me to move forward or back to another though.)

I am running thinkingrock off a USB with the data on the USB also under Windows XP Pro. It loads and runs from it just fine. Entry of thoughts works fine and the file is updated correctly onthe drive.

Any suggestions pls?

Colin

Oops - found the right button to give effect to my changes.

But should I be able to skip a thought? THat's what I guess the left and right arrow are for in the Process Thought screen but they are greyed out. If that is not what they are for, how do I skip one for later attention (although generally I think I will be doing them in order as GTD gets more familiar).

The package seems perfect with the ability to move from machine to machine (including Linux!) with my USB. But I haven't yet found a comprehensive manual or guide.

Skipping thoughts has been considered a few times e.g. http://www.thinkingrock.com.au/forum/vi ... php?t=1840

The help system will be improved when ThinkingRock 2.0 is finalised. At the moment Epsilon is stable and RC2 is being tested. However if you understand GTD you will find ThinkingRock fairly intuitive. And the guys on the forums are always helpful particularly Jeremy (the TR programmer) and Claire (the TR tester).
