At a resolutions of 1920x1200 (24" LCD), the default fonts are somewhat small. Is there a way to scale-up the entire GUI? I didn't find such an item in the Tools/Options dialog.

Try changing the --fontsize option - edit the file:

<install_dir>\thinkingrock\etc\thinkingrock.conf

change --fontsize in default_options line, e.g.

default_options="--fontsize 12 -laf javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel -J-Xms128m -J-Xmx256m -J-Dnetbeans.logger.console=true -J-ea"

Hi,

yes, this is a step in the right direction :-)

But with a fontsize of 16pt or more, it gets unreadable, because the text fields etc. aren't scaled up also.

Does anyone really need 16pt?

Why don't you reduce the resolution so that you can see the text? :)

Hehe nice.

I guess I should have noted I have no problem with size 16 font being unreadable like ikemuc, it's all fine. Can't go much higher though because the fonts start looking bold and that just annoys me.

Ok. Anyway, we won't be changing things to allow for > 16pt fonts any time soon.

Hi !

I have installed ThinkingRock on my asus eee (Linux) and the fontsize are definitively too small.

I have found a post explaining that it is possible to increase the fontsize by modifying the defaut_option line in the /etc/tr.conf file.

On my computer I don't have such a line. I tried to change the base_option line which looks quite similar without any result. I have tried also to put a value of 14 in the line fontsize = " ". It doesn't change anything to the GUI fontsize.

Any idea ?

Thanks

The conf file is probably:

<install_dir>\tr\etc\tr.conf

There should be a line like:

default_options="..."

where ... is whatever is between the quotes
so change it to something like:

default_options="--fontsize 12 ..."

Thanks Jeremy, you're right.

I stupidly missed the default_options="..." line.

It works now.

I recommend upgrading to TR 2.0.1 for the extra functionality. I do not know whether it displays large fonts properly.
