Hi, Jeremy and Claire.

First of all, let me say THANKS for the new version. I am on windows now and am using the 2.0 Gamma. Works great so far. I will be donating again shortly.

Question 1: How can a presbyopic guy like me slightly increase the font size in TR 2.0, especially in the projects.

Question 2: How can I set the right side "Details" window (Description, Success, context, notes, etc.) to be always on on the right so I can see each set of Details automatically as I scroll along the outline on the left?

Thanks.

I'm sure it will be an option at some point, but I wanted to add my vote on that point as it can be hard to see on large monitors.

If we win32 users could go back to the old Java-Style interface, that might solve the problem. It did show the font as a bit bigger.

Is there any way to do that?

Thanks.

Yes, It will be much better if we can adjust the font size. It's too small in my laptop's monitor.

Hi,

since today, I'm taking a look at Thinkingrock (in parallel to reading the GTD book :-). This software looks very good in general, but the font sice is too small to use it on my notebook. I have a 1900x1200 display, which leads to unreadable fonts.

Now I switched to 1280x800, which makes it readable, but the rest is not good any more.

I hope, that you'll integrate an option to increase the font size (and perhaps the icon size) tomake it usable.

CU
Eike

Actually it might be that the font *is* actually smaller on windows.

Here is a link about it for you Jeremy and a possible fix:

That question #2 has also been discussed today over at the topic "Project View: details pane?"

The current Word On The Street from that post is that it was conscience design change from v1, but C&J may be open to considering a change back. Not a deal breaker for me, but I do prefer it the old way. Other than that -- 2.0 gamma on both WinXP & 98 is: so far, so great!

One more vote for a customizable font size.

My laptop is 1920x1200 and the action font is very very hard to see.

First of all THANK YOU Jeremy & Claire, for your hard work and dedication on putting out the best GTD app there is, IMHO. :lol:

now on to the feedback about the latest and greatest GTD app.

I find the font, rather small using 1280x1024. My fix is to put my
monitor resolution at 800x600, then it's a bit larger, what a work around.

My font size fix:

add --fontsize 13 to the "default_options" entry in etc/thinkingrock.conf.

Now I can read my Windows 1920x1200 laptop screen just fine.

OK, I've been all through the Basic and Advanced Options area, what exactly needs to change?

This is Windows-specific (my Mac fonts are just fine).

Use wordpad (or your favorite text editor) to edit the file:

C:\Program Files\ThinkingRock2\thinkingrock\etc\thinkingrock.conf

there's a line there that says:

default_options="-J blah blah blah".

Make it say

default_options="--fontsize 12 -J blah blah blah"

[not really blah, just keep the prior contents]

I also happened to like the standard Java look and feel, so my defaults line is:

default_options="--fontsize 12 -laf javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel -J-Xms128m -J-Xmx256m -J-Dnetbeans.logger.console=true -J-ea"

Wow, what an improvement on font size, Thank you. By the way, thanks for adding the Metal Look and Feel option to the post, I like the option as well.
