I just got a new thumbdrive that has U3 installed on it. Admittedly, I have not played around with it or had any experience using it.

Has anyone had any experience using U3 with thinking rock? Any problems? Is it best to just ignore it and use the thumbdrive as I did for TR 1.2?

Also, I switch between Mac and PC with my thumbdrive, so does this change any suggestions one might make?

I appreciate your thoughts.

Just use the drive as you did before.

The actual U3 apps you can get can be interesting but they do not have to affect your TR usage. ( I have found the foxit pdf reader helpful on machines lacking Acrobat Reader, and the built-in anti-virus is better than nothing when hooking in to various machines).

Even if TR ever has a U3 version out, I don't know if it would be an improvement. I installed a U3 version of the open source Keepass (love that program) and it is more annoying than just running it from the drive straight out, since the application virtual cd drive is not the same drive letter as the storage portion of the drive's drive letter, it always get confused as to where the data file really is.

As a side note, there may be a way to add your own shortcuts to the U3 menu, but I haven't had the need to try to mess with that. If you can, then it might be nice to have an easy shortcut to starting the portable TR installation.
