I cannot launch a .jar file in any way, even if I have installed Java 1.5 regularly.
I use Win Xp, does someone have any idea to unlock this situation?

Thanks

The shortcut to the application is wrong: instead of pointing to the .bat file, it points directly to the .jar
If you run the bat file from the installation folder everything works!

:)

The jar extension should be associated with the Java program if Java is installed. It seems that Nokia and/or some other programs change this.

You can change it back by doing the following:

Open the Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E),
In the top menu go to Tools / Folder Options / File Types,
Find the jar extension or create a new entry for "jar" and associate it with the Java program (Java(TM) Platform ...)

Or you can use the bat file which runs the java VM directly. However, this shows the console window as well (which is a good thing if you want to see any information or error messages that are output).

To sum up: if you don't have the Java (VM/Runtime/Platform - whatever you want to call it) program associated with the jar extension you need to run Java directly using the bat file or with a command like:

java -jar "C:\Program Files\ThinkingRock\thinking-rock-win32-1.2.2.beta.jar"
